Vajilla sustentable: la evolución que los consumidores y el planeta se merecían
hasta hace poco, eran un elemento infaltable de los cumpleaños: los descartables ganaban por su practicidad. Sin embargo, el tiempo nos enseñó que los plásticos de un solo uso son un gran problema, y que lejos de resolver algo rápidamente, en realidad se prolongan en el tiempo contaminando el planeta.
En este punto, la industria aprendió, tomó nota y creó diferentes alternativas de vajillas sustentables que no dañan al ambiente y no dejan de ser fáciles a la hora de limpiar o descartar.
"Los cubiertos descartables y vajillas se usan unos 20 minutos en promedio. Muchas veces terminan desechados en la vía pública, y si son de plástico tardan unos 400 años en degradarse. En cambio, las vajillas sustentables utilizan materiales biodegradables que se degradan en menor tiempo. La línea de utensilios, potes y vasos de helados de BIOHZ, a diferencia de los potes de polipapel y vasos plásticos, son fabricados en cartulina con barrera antihumedad, sin laminados plásticos siendo una alternativa biodegradable y reciclable", define Pablo García, gerente Comercial Regional del Grupo HZ, desarrollador de los productores de esta línea.

Estos cubiertos tardan menos de un año y medio de biodegradarse. HZ inició el desarrollo de esta línea de utensilios por la cuchara, porque dentro de la línea de cubiertos es el producto que tiene más uso y consumo en la vía pública.
"Como Grupo empresario somos conscientes de la necesidad de motorizar cambios a nivel social que nos movilicen a ser más sustentables, mitigando el impacto ambiental. Fomentamos el reciclado, aplicamos políticas medio ambientales en todas nuestras plantas y buscamos el desarrollo de alternativas de productos sustentables." afirma García.

Buscando siempre innovar, esta compañía se propuso generar potes de helados reciclables y biodegradables, y lo logró. "No tienen blanqueadores y poseen un tratamiento antihumedad y antigrasa. Además, presentan un diseño novedoso, porque su caja térmica modular es totalmente única. Se trata de potes de un cuarto, medio y un kilo de helado y una caja térmica", indica el gerente de Grupo HZ.
Y agrega: "Estos envases están pensados fundamentalmente para delivery y take away. Su ensamble es simple y rápido, la caja externa se entrega plegada, optimizando el espacio de transporte y guardado en punto de venta. El envase mantiene la temperatura del producto por más de 45 minutos. A su vez, las cajas térmicas pueden ser utilizadas más de una vez".

"El vaso desechable que suelen usar las máquinas expendedoras y los locales de café está hecho de un revestimiento de polietileno al 5%. Este pequeño porcentaje hace que el envase sea resistente a la degradación y podría demorar alrededor de 30 años en descomponerse", advierte Celeste Mangiardi, fundadora y CEO de TICA, empresa B que produce tazas térmicas reusables de acero inoxidable con tapa de bambú.
"Con la compra de una taza TICA se ahorran más de 250 tazas descartables de café al año", aclara Magiardi.

Para Pablo del Valle, director del proyecto Refill, "el crecimiento de la tendencia es exponencial". Ellos producen y promueven el uso de botellas reutilizables, y dan cuenta de la evolución: "antes se vendían en bazares y casas de regalo. Hoy la llegada al público es a través de los kioscos y supermercados, ya con agua mineralizada dentro. También vemos estaciones de carga en los shoppings, estaciones de subte y más", resalta este emprendedor.

Otra tendencia que crece es la de que la vajilla de todos los días sea sustentable, e incluso la de las fiestas. Así, la Cámara de la Madera (Cadamda) propone, entre otras cosas, usar platos de sitio del tan noble material mencionado.
